Subcontractor to Merck
pharmaceuticals. Project Leader role, managing two other
developers. Project design and management using
MS-Project, created specifications for development
efforts. customer interface for specs and integration.
Designed, developed and implemented medium-scale,
distributed n-tier solution, including a GUI front-end,
to integrate a document management system using
Documentum with Merck’s internal data and processing
systems. Documentum accessed through third party
Document Compliance software. Application produced
printed output with specific binding instructions,
overlays, watermarks and section breaks.
Designed and developed all low-level VB classes
for encapsulated processing of database activity,
DocCompliance interface, XML data extraction, MS-Word
integration, Table-driven forms assembly and data
merging with custom formatting.
Form Rules via metadata and Field rules via
class. Produced a Customizable, Metadata (database
tables) driven system that automates the extraction of
internal data via SQL, merging this data with MS-Word
documents and/or PDF documents, and prints to a high-end
Xerox printer for complete bound output.

Designed, developed and
implemented large-scale, distributed n-tier credit
decision systems for business credit cards and business
leasing services. Object
and Component based Visual basic applications used to
process an application, pulled credit reports, create
scores and a decision and stored in the database.
Object DLLs utilized and manipulated.
Created Intranet based ASP web pages to display
Credit information from database.
Developed and Managed High-end Sybase DBMS used
to store and retrieve credit application and report data
including stored procedures and triggers.
Worked as team leader for ongoing development
effort with two analysts and two additional developers.
Performed business and technical analysis of core
system and enhancements. Managed three separate environments used for development, QA
Testing and Production.
Designed and developed custom applications for
managing the processing environment, data management,

implementation of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) with
Conrail. On-site consultation as to technical standards
and integration with existing computer systems.
Responsible for in-house development and implementation
of new EDI applications. Committee member of a
nationwide EDI standard's maintenance organization.
Developed specifications for a PC based, railroad EDI
system. Speaker at Conrail EDI seminars for customer
training. Hosted various trade shows.
